Total incompetence. I took in a 1500 pounds 3 quarter length burberry leather coat that the zip had gone in after a good few years of wear and tear, i asked if they would be able to add the little burberry tag to the puller of the replacement zip to which they replied they probably could but wouldn't and showed me the replacement zip and we both agreed it could probably be done and the burberry tag added but they didn't want the responsibility which i thought 'fair enough'as it did look fiddly, i agreed and said fine to the repair work as long as i could have the old zip and burberry tag back so i could add it myself to the new replacement zip, they agreed. The lady was most helpful and wrote on the work ticket ' old zip & tag to be returned to owner' and attached it to the coat and hung it on the rail, she also said that she would tell the machinist i needed it back. 1 week later i return to collect my coat, the zip was fixed satisfactory, but no sign of my old zip and tag, i asked where it was and the lady said she had no idea, remembering our conversation and what she wrote on the ticket the week before would go and find out. I watched her ask the machinist and she just shrugged her shoulders and said it must have been thrown away, with a couldn't care less expression.They asked if i was ok to which i replied 'no not really, that's a 1500 pound coat', They had asked for payment upfront so I'd payed for the work when i took the coat in the previous week , i was so angry i had to leave the shop before i exploded. The coat was sentimental and cost a months pay , i would not have agreed to the repair if i knew i wouldn't get my old zip and more importantly the burberry tag back. Do not take anything you value here as they cant be trusted.
