Avoid the place if the barmaid is on. I was with my partner, trying to get served was a nightmare as she was screeching at her mates from the end of the bar, taking absolutely no notice of customers at the bar. Her language was foul to say the least especially as we were newcomers to the pub. It wasn’t what we expected. Compared to the Foresters, back street pubs in Liverpool are refined and welcoming. Several real ales are available but I only tried one before my partner wanted to get out. The beer I had was well kept so credit to the cellar man, the rest of the place is an unfriendly dump. Talking to one of the customers while having a cigarette in the street I asked if it was always as bad. Apparently when the landlord is there he keeps an orderly house. I may give it a go on my own…………. Watch this space……………
