This was by far the worst experience I have ever had. Live in Loughborough and had a Christmas gift voucher to go to kegworth shooting ground. Decided it would be cheaper to train to Long Eaton and then get a taxi for the ten minute drive to kegworth shooting. (I had checked on google maps before we left, which showed it was a ten minutes journey) We had a postcode for the shooting ground, a map provided by the shooting ground and instructions on how to get there, which we had taken from the shooting ground website. The driver seemed to have no idea where he was going. He had put the postcode in his sat nat and looked at the map and said yes I know, but then rang the office after we departed to ask where it was, in a mixture of English and something else. We went past two signs for the shooting ground, my partner showing them to the driver, but the driver just said ok, ok. But he continued, I think at this point he had been given instructions to go the long way round to squeeze as much money out of us as possible - the meter was getting to about £15. My partner told him he wasn't happy about this, there had been a exit on the roundabout long ago with a sign for the shooting ground and we knew it to be only ten mins from the station. The drivers response was an agreesive "no, this way". Eventually we came to somewhere called long lane which was closed and yet he tried to get as far down it as he could. He said he didn't know and he'll take us back to the station. At this point, we called the owner of the shooting ground who spoke on the phone to the driver to try and give him directions, but the taxi driver didn't understand what the owner was saying and refused to talk to us and took us back to the station. We were not pleased and so he told us we don't have to pay. Overall, this taxi driver, first tried to milk us for cash, then after he couldn't do that instead of looking at our map, calling his office, or looking on Google maps on one of our phones, he was aggressive and took us back to the station. We were in that car 40-50 mins, we missed our shooting and we lost money by paying for the train tickets. The owner of the shooting ground also lost out because he had paid for an instructor which we never got to.
