Marriotts rented a flat to us that was uninhabitable - very cold with cheap heaters that didn't work properly, bricks crumbling off the exterior, tiles falling off bathroom wall. We had to report numerous issues, which they took weeks to do anything about and when they did sort them, they were cheaply and shoddily done. We had a terrible problem with damp and mould which they continually painted over and tried to blame on us. They have finally agreed the flat is uninhabitable so have allowed us to move into the upstairs flat while they do work on the downstairs one. However, we have been upstairs for a month and no work has been done on the downstairs flat. We were told before moving upstairs that the rent on the downstairs flat would not go up when we moved back down, but they're now telling us this might happen and saying we should just ignore our contract because it will become irrelevant when we go back down. Their customer service has been awful and their communication is confusing and uncaring. Our contact at Marriotts has also made several spiteful comments towards us. Don't use them!
