I attempted to purchase a property from Express Sales and from the outset I was given incorrect information. The property was of a Non Standard Construction but this was not made clear and I had to find this out after paying the mortgage surveyor £400. I addition the Lease details were stated as 114 years remaining, then 97 years and finally I made a call myself to the Freeholder who advised me that both figures were incorrect and it was 90 years. I am very disappointed at losing the property but could not continue with the purchase at the agreed price once this information was highlighted. All in all the whole situation cost me in excess of £800 with nothing to show for it. Please do not instruct surveyors or solicitors until you have the correct information or you will be out of pocket.
