Have been to this restaurant on many occasions and had some great meals but after my latest vist last Saturday night I will not be returning again. Its the typical story of a restaurant that becomes very popular but then starts to believe that its so good that customers will still come no matter what they serve up. They then start to penny pinch and ruin everything. Had a starter described as haggis & seared scallops (please note the plural). When it came there were two small blobs of haggis and a single small scallop cut into three slices to give the appearance that there was more than one, this paltry amount cost nearly £8. Had lobster as the main course this had the consistency of one of my dog's rubber toys and came with shop bought french fries and mayo, cost almost £25. As I was still hungry I decided the most filling desert would be the cheese board descirbed as three different cheeses with crackers. When it came it was actually only two types of cheese but two slices of the same variety to again give the illusion of three. Very poor and mean, went home hungry which is a disgrace after a three course meal. The only saving grace was the staff who were very helpful, cheerful and efficient, its just a shame they were let down by the food they had to serve.
